This was what she said,
" It's stores, it's the whole thing, all that shit everywhere, 'scuse me, that merchandise, all those goods, and ads screaming at you from all over the place, buy buy buy buy buy, and when somebody comes up to me with big hair and gobs of makeup on and says, 'Can I help you,' it's all I can do not to scream, 'Bitch, you can't even help yourself.' "
Shopping, anyone?
Mary Krull aside, the read was engaging, surprisingly, since I am pretty conventional when it comes to reading LGBT related stuff.
And I think I could relate most to Mrs Brown (Heck I could relate to all three of them). In a way our society today is like the 30s of America. Apparently, when you are in a stable marriage, you cannot feel depressed or otherwise they will say that you are UNGRATEFUL.
I would read this again and it would feel like I was trancending into the words, the prose. So smooth that I wouldn't even realise that I was actually reading.

It was a smooth, engaging read for me. The beginning was just WOW!
